Fort Pigeon backyard party

Using the impetus of many Fort-Pigeoner's leaving the state/country/hemisphere for the summer, and the decaying state of our forest backyard, a mass-clean up ensued so that we could have a backyard bbq/potluck

Wolfpack Hustle Drag Race #3

Catching up on posts, back in May was the 3rd Wolfpack Hustle drag race, the first being in the 2nd Street Tunnel in downtown, the second on 6th street bridge, both of which I missed. This time was back to the 2nd Street tunnel, a place I had thought would be great for sprints since I first saw it. Famous for T.V. car commercials and movie settings (supposedly Tokyo in Kill Bill for example), in this scenario it was 300-500 kids on bikes. Alas this time too many people, and the police decided to clear it right as the sprints started. The race resumed elsewhere, and didnt finish till 5am, but I took the beer/bed approach instead. An amazing spectacle involving no money, no permits, and lots of fun while it lasted...

During warm-ups I was a little confused...

Inner city living...

After a brief jaunt back home to Melbourne, its back to ultra-density East L.A. along with the "June Gloom", endless days of mid-80s weather and sunshine coated in a thick blanket of smog and pollution. In preparation for today's going away party (myself to Tucson, Sasha to Israel, Morgan to England/Australia) we cleared out the backyard for the party. After hours of clearing cars, shrubs, weeds, wood piles, unidentified toxic waste, and so on, we found that the hens and rooster had been making babies, 12 of them to be exact, and more to come...

No one knows where they came from, who owns them, how they survive with numerous stray cats, or "which came first..."

...one more for the "awww" factor
